Acupuncture is part of a complete system of medicine that supports how your body regulates, heals, and restores balance.
You might be considering acupuncture for pain, stress, digestive issues, hormonal changes, or symptoms that haven’t improved with things like massage or physical therapy, supplements or dietary changes, or stress management techniques.
That’s often because symptoms are addressed in isolation, rather than through the systems that influence how your body functions as a whole.
In Chinese medicine, the goal is to create balance within your entire system, not just treat the area where symptoms show up—helping your body regulate in a way that feels more natural and sustainable.
With over 15 years of experience, I’ve seen how reliably acupuncture supports meaningful change when the whole system is addressed.
A more complete approach to acupuncture
Most acupuncture today is practiced using Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which focuses primarily on physical symptoms and organ systems.
This can be very effective, but it doesn’t always address the root of how your body responds to stress, trauma, pain, illness, and change.
5 Element Acupuncture is built to treat these deep but often unknown drivers of your health like nervous system patterning, stored unprocessed emotions, behavioral responses, and constitutional tendencies, or who you are at your core.
In my practice, I use a combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and 5 Element Acupuncture because they allow me to address what’s happening physically, emotionally, and how your system is coping and adapting underneath it all.
This creates a more complete and effective approach with better, deeper, and more sustained results than using either system on its own.
I received a great craniosacral treatment WHILE getting acupuncture and she gave me excellent, clear advice on addressing my concerns. I’ve seen a number of acupuncturists over the past 10 years and I’ve never walked out of a session feeling like my perspective on the world had shifted back to my true self until my session with Dr. Liz.
My energy increased and the stubborn pain in my neck went away.

How we can work together
Acupuncture is combined with naturopathic medicine and craniosacral therapy, allowing your treatment to support your body from multiple angles at once.
Acupuncture treatments may help support:
- nervous system regulation and how your
- body responds to stress
- circulation and tissue healing
- digestive function
- hormonal balance
- pain and muscle tension
- immune function
- emotional health, including how you process stress, adapt to life experiences, and maintain a sense of balance
In each treatment with me, you’ll receive:
- a combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine and 5 Element Acupuncture
- care that is adapted to your system in real time
- a focus on both physical and emotional aspects of your health
- integration with naturopathic and hands-on therapies
- longer appointments (90 minutes) so your system has time to respond
- a treatment plan that evolves as your body changes
Each treatment is personalized to how your body is responding and what support you need in the moment, rather than following a fixed protocol.
The goal isn’t just short-term relief.
It’s to help your body regulate in a way that leads to lasting change.
What you can expect
Over time, patients often notice:
- improved regulation of their nervous system
- reduced symptoms and flare-ups
- better digestion, sleep, and energy
- more emotional stability and resilience
- a greater sense of connection to their body
Progress may be rapid or gradual, and it builds in a way that lasts.
What does acupuncture feel like?
Acupuncture treatments are typically very relaxing, and many people fall asleep during their session.
The needles are extremely thin, and insertion is quick and gentle. You may feel a mild sensation at certain points, often described as a dull, heavy, or achy feeling, but it’s generally not painful.
As the treatment progresses, your body often shifts into a more settled state, with slower breathing and a sense of calm. Some people feel this immediately, while for others it builds over the course of the session.
After treatment, it’s common to feel more grounded, relaxed, or clear. Giving yourself time to rest and hydrate can help your body integrate the effects more fully.
If you’d like to see what the needles look like, you can watch a short video of me demonstrating acupuncture on myself and check out this one on common sensations during treatment.
Dr. Liz has a unique ability to make a turnaround in your wellness with her touch.
Recently, I went in to see her and I was a hot mess…I had an active 3 day migraine going, my body was beyond tense and my emotions were high…she was able to reverse all that in one session with acupuncture and gentle craniosacral manipulation-my migraine went away and every body ache and pain too, it was the best I’ve felt in years.
She is a good listener and can lead you on the right path to better health. I was suffering from acid reflux for some time and she recommended bitters (which she had available at her office) and it has really improved my reflux symptoms. The bitters will also take me out of active acid reflux when I’m experiencing heartburn.
Dr. Liz should really be part of your health team! I’m really happy I found her, thank you Dr. Liz!

Dr Liz is AMAZING! She really cares about each of her patients whole health. I recommend Dr. Liz to all my friends and family too!!
She figured out my gluten intolerance, my migraines are practically gone (I was getting debilitating migraines at least 3times a week or more). Also, greatly helping my shoulder and back pain with acupuncture.
The list really goes on and on. I am so excited to have found her. And it’s such a wonderful thing to have a doctor who care.
My regular western medicine doctor was okay. Not quite to prescribe medicine, but also didn’t want to help me come off my add medicine. So I gave up in her and found New leaf medicine with Dr. Liz.
I thought I would have to go through a few doctors till I found one I liked. But from the first visit I felt so comfortable and when I left I felt so much better. Seriously, I recommend New Leaf Medicine with Dr. Liz!!!
